Scarlett Hancock has been waiting tables for about 13 years.

“I love it, it’s great,” she said. “I love the people. I love Hopkinsville.”

She works at Da Vinci Little Italian Restaurant on North Drive and Roundies downtown, but she used to work at J’s on Main when her mother owned it and she’d like to own a restaurant of her own one day.

“Hopefully one day when my children are grown, I’d like to own a restaurant or a store maybe in Florida in the Keys,” she said. “That’s my goal for the next 25 years. Just a little hang-out place — maybe like a coffee shop.”

When she’s not meeting new people at work, she’s got her hands full at home as well.

“I have four children, and lots of pets. Three dogs, two cats, four frogs and two fish,” she said.
