Don Cottrell opened up Don’s Barber Shop on Fort Campbell Boulevard three weeks ago. He previously had his own barbershop in Cadiz but sold it to a man who worked with him.

The owners of the building had talked to Cottrell about opening a barbershop about three years ago. He lives in Hopkinsville and thought it made sense to move his business.

Cottrell’s father, Bill, runs a barbershop out of the back of his house on Country Club Lane. Don Cottrell cut hair with his father for several years before working elsewhere.

Since opening the new shop, Cottrell said business has been good. Some of his customers from Cadiz have even started traveling to the Hopkinsville shop.

“I just enjoy meeting the people and talking with them,” said Cottrell. “I enjoy my work.”
