An accident on Maple Grove Road in Trigg County sent a man to a Nashville, Tenn., hospital by helicopter on Wednesday afternoon.

Joshua L. Holley, 29, was traveling south on Maple Grove Road.

Nathaniel W. York, 22, of Cadiz, was also traveling south but was in the northbound lane.

When the trucks crested a hill, an oncoming vehicle was traveling north.

York’s Chevy struck the driver’s side rear wheel of Holley’s Dodge when York attempted to get into the correct lane, according to a Kentucky State Police report.

Holley lost control of his vehicle, went airborne, struck a tree and came to a rest on the driver’s side.

Holley was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville by Air Evac Lifeteam, according to the report. He was not wearing a seat belt.

York was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. He was charged with reckless driving.
