Jim Ed Lewis, 87, Princeton, died at 10:27 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at his home following a brief illness.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Morgan’s Funeral Home, Princeton, with the Rev. Russ Davidson officiating.

Burial will be at Millwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

A native of Caldwell County, he was born May 22, 1926, the son of the late Thomas Powell and Bessie Bell White Lewis.

He was retired as a maintenance supervisor for General Motors and was a member of the American Legion, the Elks Club and First Baptist Church. He was a World War II Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Ann Mitchell Lewis; two sons, Burl Lewis,and John W. Lewis, both of Mount Airy, N.C.; three daughters, Peggy Lee Dowdy and Donna Denise Lewis, both of Mount Airy, and Virginia Pettit, Caldwell County; two stepchildren, Claudia A. Eisenmann, Westchester, Pa., and Andrew Eisenmann, Palm Springs, Calif.; a sister, Tommye Middleton, Clarksville; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Millwood Cemetery, In care of Kay Hammons, 1231 Highway 126, Princeton, KY 42445.
