Hallow Read will be from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the back parking lot of the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library at 1101 Bethel St. Children from kindergarten to fifth grade are invited to attend.

Sandy Cunningham will kick off the event with Halloween stories in the library amphitheater. Activities will include face-painting, mini-pumpkin painting for the first 100 children, paper mask-making and mummy wrap. Children can also guess what scary items are in a bag.

There will be popcorn and helium balloons.
