A Cadiz entrepreneur has started a new program that provides an incentive to shop at local businesses, according to a news release from the Cadiz-Trigg County Economic Development Commission.

Susan Sheley, the creator of a Cadiz marketing firm, will start the “pig passport” promotion today, the release states. Through the promotion, shoppers can stop in at one of 18 participating stores and get their “passport” stamped. After receiving 10 stamps, shoppers can bring their passports to the Janice Mason Art Museum where they will receive a small wooden pig ornament.

The museum will be open for painting the ornaments from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, the release states.

“The Cadiz EDC is thrilled about this business idea for a pig passport in our community to draw tourists and locals to our downtown stores,” Sharon Butts, executive director of the Cadiz EDC, said in the statement.
