Tonya S. Grace joins The Cadiz Record as its next staff writer following the resignation of Sarah Elliott, who has accepted a position with Trigg County Public Schools system.

Grace brings experience reporting all across the region, having previously worked over 20 years at the Kentucky New Era and freelanced at the Todd County Standard and The Eagle Post newspaper in Oak Grove.

Grace has lived in Hopkinsville since coming to work at the New Era in 1986. She worked at the paper almost 20 years, as assistant features editor, handling the bookends page, coordinating the religion page and a now obsolete teen focus group.

Grace left the New Era when she and her husband adopted their son from China, but returned to work at the New Era in 2016 before accepting the new opportunity to cover Trigg County.

In her free time, Grace enjoys walking, cooking and trying new recipes in her kitchen.

Grace’s first day was Monday.
