James E. “Jim” Hicks, 85, Cadiz, died Friday, March 13, 2020, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Funeral services were Wednesday March 18, at Kings Funeral Home with Thomas Schmittou officiating. Burial followed in Green Hill Memorial Gardens.

A native of Garrett, he was born May 5, 1934, the son of the late Tandy and Liza Bell Wallace Hicks.

He was a retired electrician from Ford Motor Company, of the Baptist faith, a past member of the Eagles Club and Moose Lodge. Jim enjoyed golfing, bowling and boating.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Jean Niemi and Patsy Prater, and two brothers, Glen Hicks and TJ Hicks.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Peggy A. Hicks, Cadiz; son Jimmy “Bo” Hicks Jr., Illinois; daughters Jerly (Zac) Scott, Karen Markham, both of Michigan, Lora Reece, Cadiz; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association Kentucky Region, 240 Whittington Parkway, Louisville, KY 40222.
