Susie Campbell Towler, 90

Susie Campbell Towler, 90, Cadiz, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2020, at Covington’s Convalescent Center in Hopkinsville.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2020, at Goodwin Funeral Home with Dr. Calvin Bryant officiating. Burial followed in Daniel Stewart Cemetery in Trigg County.

Visitation was Monday at the funeral home.

Born Jan. 4, 1930, in Trigg County, she was the daughter of the late James O. and Irene (Pryor) Campbell.

She married J.M. Towler on June 6, 1948, and for more than 40 years, they worked side-by-side as owners and operators of Towler’s Market in the Montgomery community of Trigg County. A member of Cerulean Baptist Church, Susie loved the Lord and devoted herself to daily prayers, especially for her family. She enjoyed playing dominoes with her friends and having her faithful and beloved dog Punky always by her side.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.M. Towler, in 2007; and three brothers, Thomas Campbell, Leonard Campbell and Marvin Campbell.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Janet Towler, Cadiz; two grandchildren, Jay (Sarah) Towler and Jaime (Hal) Towler Choate; two great-grandchildren, Lyndsey Choate and Nick Choate (fiancé Haleigh Hardie); a great-great-granddaughter, Palmer Kate Crawley; two sisters, JoAnn (Wilburn) Wilson of Cadiz, and Beuton Towler of Newburgh, Indiana; two special nieces, Marsha Garner and Paula Hall; and sisters-in-law, Genella Campbell, Evelyn Campbell and Margie Campbell.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Mrs. Towler’s caregivers: Hope Turner, Mamie Tyler, Patsy Morris, Tomekia Harris and Lisa Sumner.
