Trigg County Public Schools Superintendent Bill Thorpe announced Friday that the schools will have Wi-Fi hotspots on school buses at some of the meal delivery locations throughout the county.

Thorpe said he hopes that this will help some of the families that are struggling with virtual learning due to no internet access at home.

The hotspots were turned on Tuesday during meal delivery at the following meal delivery locations: Linton, Rockcastle, Trigg County Recreation Complex, Roaring Springs, Caledonia/Locust Grove/ Cerulean and Canton.

Students and families are encouraged to log on to download schoolwork for a day or a week at a time during the meal delivery times.

The password for every hotspot is Wildcats.

“We hope that this will help some of our families and students that need assistance with internet access for now,” Thorpe said. “We will be adding more hotspots in other areas throughout the county as soon as possible.”

Trigg County Public Schools will update information about additional hotspots as they become available.

Additionally, Trigg County Public Schools resumed the food delivery program for all students during virtual learning.

Parents will be able to pick up breakfast and lunch for their child each day from 11 a.m. until noon Monday through Friday. Meals only are offered to students, preschool through 12th grade that are currently enrolled in Trigg County Public Schools.
