She married M.V. Franklin in 1946, and together they farmed land at Crooked Creek, and at McNab School House in Lyon County, before moving to Cadiz, where Alice oversaw the daily operations of their large beef cattle and row crop farm located in the Montgomery area of Trigg County. In addition to managing the farm, Alice was a devoted and loving mother to their son.
After the death of her husband, she worked briefly at the former Wilkinson’s Department Store in downtown Cadiz, but her deep love of tending to the farm always kept her tied to her roots. In her retirement, Alice enjoyed spending time gardening, baking, sewing, crocheting, and reading, and especially loved the company of her family and longtime companion.
She was a member of Rocky Ridge Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Raybon Aldridge and Sammy Aldridge; and a sister, Ponney Walker.
She is survived by her son, Jackie (Debbie) Franklin of Cadiz; two grandsons, Corey (Jessica) Franklin of Louisville, and Caleb Franklin (fiance’ Rebecca Clark) of Cadiz; and her devoted companion, Gary Jones of Cadiz.
