Private funeral services for Marty Hunter, 61, of Cadiz will be held at King’s Funeral Home with David Ginn, Bill Stallons and the Rev. Paul Cannon officiating.
Private burial will follow in the Peyton Thomas Cemetery. King’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
He passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at his home.
Marty was born in Cadiz, on Nov. 11, 1958 to the late Robert Franklin “Husky” Hunter and Ora Mae Oakley Hunter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jesse and Lila Oakley, Robert Hunter and Guyeula Clark.
Marty was a farmer and logger and was the owner of Ford Trucking and Logging for 40 years. He was a member of the Donaldson Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, Sunday School director, children’s church leader, sung in the choir, youth leader and men’s mission leader. He was a member of the Gideons International. Marty was active in mission work in Bangladesh for 17 years.
Survivors are his wife of 41 years, Pat Hunter, Cadiz; a son, Logan (Abby) Hunter, Chapel Hill, Tennessee; a daughter, Amanda (Jason) Green, Lawrenceburg, Kentucky; a sister, Melanie (J.L.) Atwill, Fulton, Kentucky; a granddaughter, Elsie Grey Hunter, Chapel Hill, Tennessee; his father, Butch (Polly) Thomas, Cadiz; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Mike (Missy) Thomas , Cadiz; a niece: Haley (Matt) Kennedy, Cadiz; a nephew: Seth (Linsey) McPherson, Paducah, Kentucky; a special Bangladesh family, Anjoy Biswas, Samuel Bala, Tutal Bala; and a special pet, Sadie Mae.
