Jim “James” Michael Black, age 75, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Friday, June 4, 2021, at his home in Cadiz.
Funeral services will be at Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, at 6:00 p.m., Monday, June 7, 2021, with the Reverend Norman Cotton officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service on Monday.
Born September 15, 1945, in Carlinville, Illinois, he was the son of the late George Black and Paulene Tezza Black. He was employed as a Claims Adjusting Coordinator for Crawford and Company and additionally worked at Ebonite in Hopkinsville. He enjoyed painting, new and vintage cars, fishing, and riding his tractor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Chris Mefford; and a brother, Ronnie Black.
He is survived by his wife, Regina Mefford Black of Cadiz; three sons, Rick (Carol)
Black and Brian Black, both of Cadiz, and Mike (Lori) Black of Virden, Ill.; two step-sons, Michael Hunter of Hopkinsville, KY, and Matthew (Bethany) Edwards of Princeton, KY; brother, Bill (Sharon) Black of Albuquerque, N.M.; and six grandchildren.
