Mary Lou Broughton, 86, Cadiz, died Thursday May 21, 2020 at Shady Lawn Nursing and Rehab.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 24, 2020, at King’s Funeral Home with the Revs. Brad Chaflin, Joshua Broughton and Paul Cannon officiating.
Burial was Tuesday, May 26, at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West in Hopkinsville.
A native of Alamo, Texas, she was born Nov. 22, 1933, the daughter of the late George C. Lookingbill and Mary A. Clements Lookingbill.
She was a retired medical receptionist, a member of the Cumberland Shores Homemakers Club, Newcomers Club, Republican Women’s Party and the Cadiz Ladies Red Haters Club.
She was a member of the Canton Baptist Church and the choir.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, George C. Lookingbill III; one sister, Laura M. Lookingbill and one grandson.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Donald E. Broughton, Cadiz; her son, Michael E. (Patricia) Broughton, Seymour, Ind.; her daughter, Patricia A. (Larry) Cooley, Cadiz; her brother, Lenard D. Lookingbill, Portland, Ore.; her sister, Ruth Ann (Hub) Harwell, Wimberly, Texas; three grandchildren, Joshua M. (Jennifer) Broughton; Michelle L. (B.J.) Terry; and Kristi D. (Adam) Yates; and seven great-grandchildren, Noah J. Broughton, Jack T. Broughton, William Joseph Terry, Cole M. Yates, Wyatt J. Terry, Brady G. Yates, Kate M. Terry.
