Louise Delawson

Louise Carneyhan Delawson, age 83, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021, at her home in Hopkinsville.

Born July 22, 1937, in Trigg County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late L.C. Carneyhan and Nina Mae Milam Carneyhan. She was a dedicated homemaker and a member of Wallonia Christian Church. She enjoyed tending to her flowers, working puzzles, reading, and loved spending time with her dogs. Most of all she loved her role as “Grandma D.”

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Carroll Franklin Wright; second husband, Jewell Delawson; son, Rocky Wright; two daughters, Linda Holder and Cinda Wright; four brothers, Ronnie Carneyhan, William Earl Carneyhan, Clifford Carneyhan, and Ricky Carneyhan; and two sisters, Barbara Carneyhan and Mamie Ruth Chatman.

She is survived by two sons, Frank Wright and Timmy Wright, both of Hopkinsville; daughter, Carolyn (Roger) Rector of Hopkinsville; step-son, Mike (Pat) Delawson of Hopkinsville; step-daughter, Teresa (Steve) Illgen of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; 16 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby (Sandy) Carneyhan of Cerulean; and sister, Willie Lee Grace of Hopkinsville.

Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends after 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 21, 2021. Funeral services will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 22, 2021. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Hopkinsville.
