John Riley Fourshee, 70, and Vickie Mitchell Fourshee, 69, both of Cadiz, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021, while vacationing in Moyie Springs, Idaho.

John was born April 23, 1951, in Trigg County, the second of three sons born to the late Thomas “Tommy” Fourshee and Geneva Nell Fourshee (nee Mize). Vickie was born September 22, 1951, in Caldwell County, the daughter of the late Millard D. Mitchell and Nettie Mae Mitchell Giannini (nee Hart).

John was a 1969 graduate of Trigg County High School, and Vickie was a 1969 graduate of Caldwell County High School. They were married on June 18, 1971, and the couple had three children. They were both longtime devoted members of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where Vickie had served as a Sunday School teacher and John served as a deacon for many years. While Vickie worked as an instructional aide at Trigg County Schools, John worked as an electrician, managing the HVAC installation and service division of Fourshee Building Supply, the family business owned and operated by John and his brothers. John also raised cattle on their farm, with Vickie as his helpmate who often assisted in the field, as well as with record-keeping.

In 2014 Vickie retired from her job as a Kindergarten teacher’s assistant, touching the hearts and lives of numerous children throughout the years. She continued to show her love and heart for God in her retirement by volunteering at The Way where she ministered to children in the community. John also possessed a servant’s heart, always willing to reach out to friends and neighbors in their times of need. John enjoyed hunting and was a hobby beekeeper, while Vickie was an avid gardener. They were an active, fun-loving couple who loved to travel the country together, often visiting national parks and always in search of a new outdoors adventure, whether it was canoeing or fishing. Their most recent adventure was celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with a fly-fishing excursion on the Moyie River. They most loved their family and spending time with their children and grandchildren. They leave their family with many cherished memories.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his step-mother, Edith Cameron Fourshee. In addition to her parents, Vickie was preceded in death by her step-father, Dr. Frank P. Giannini.
