James T. “Jim” Boren, 88

James T. “Jim” Boren, 88, Cadiz, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.

Private family graveside services will be at noon Friday, Jan. 29, 2021 at Canton Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Chase Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the Canton Baptist Church Cemetery. King’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

A native of Princeton, Kentucky he was born on Nov. 5, 1932, the son of Lewis Boren and Katie Smith Boren Sholar.

Jim was a retired engineer from the state highway department and a member of the Canton Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and golfer and enjoyed playing pool.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his first wife, June Boren and one son, Stephen Boren.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou DeShazo Boren, Cadiz; two sons, David (Beth) Boren, Cadiz; John (Patricia) Boren, Owensboro, Kentucky; three stepsons, Bill Harris, Amarillo, Texas; Russell Harris, Los Angeles, California; Sam Harris Jr., Amarillo; brothers, Twyman (Betty) Boren, Princeton; Bob (Shirley) Boren, Virginia; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

Memorial Donations may be made to the Lakeland Jamboree, 1180 Shine Lane, Cadiz, KY 42211 or Trigg County Senior Citizens Center, 127 Joy Lane, Cadiz, KY 42211 or the charity of the donor’s choice.
