William H. "Billy" Turner, 82

William H. “Billy” Turner, 82, Cerulean, died at 4:25 a.m., on Friday, May 15, 2020 at his home in Cerulean, of natural causes.

Funeral services will be private with Dr. Calvin Bryant officiating. Goodwin Funeral Home, Cadiz, is in charge of the arrangements.

Burial will be in Cerulean Cemetery in Cerulean.

Born Thursday, March 24, 1938 in Cerulean, he was the son of the late William and Louise (Jacob) Turner.

Billy was a 1956 graduate of Trigg County High School and was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1961. After serving a two-year tour of duty, he returned to his home in Cerulean where he continued to farm the family homestead with his father.

He married Grace Martin in November 1964, and they attended Cerulean Baptist Church, where Billy was a lifelong member and served as a Sunday School teacher, Discipleship Training leader, and deacon, as well as a former chairman of Deacons. A career farmer, Billy was a past Farm Bureau Director and a former recipient of the Young Farmer of the Year and Farmer of the Year awards. He was a 50-year member of Cerulean Masonic Lodge #875.

Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Grace Martin Turner, Cerulean; a son, Kendall (Kristen) Turner, Cerulean; a daughter, Leslie (Lee) Crabtree, Cadiz; seven grandchildren, Shane (Dr. Brittany) Patterson, Sloane (Anthony) Isbill, Shaye Patterson, Gracelynn Turner, Kennedy Turner, Brayden Deboe and Dean Turner; four step-grandchildren, Stephen Crabtree, Christian Crabtree, Matthew Crabtree and Timmie Crabtree; three great-grandchildren, Abel Patterson, Owen Isbill, and Hazel Isbill; nine step-great-grandchildren.; brothers, Jimmy (Gayle) Turner, Cerulean, Ray (Dr. Greta) Turner, Ary, Kentucky; sisters, Frances Lancaster, Cerulean; Carolyn (William) Lawrence, Cadiz; Betty Blakeley, Cerulean; Lynn (Gaylon) King, Cerulean.

He was preceded in death by his father, William J. Turner; mother, Louise Jacob Turner and a granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Turner.
