George Mack Jr., 81, passed away at his home in Cadiz, on Tuesday July 6, 2021.
His funeral service will take place in the Chapel of Adams & Sons Mortuary on Tuesday July 13, 2021, at 2 p.m. There is will be a social distancing, walk-through visitation from noon until the commencement of the funeral. The wearing of protective masks is requested. Reverends Terry W. Brison and Kenneth Wharton will be officiating. The burial will be at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Cadiz.
The son of George Mack Sr. and Magdulene Morrison Russell, George was born in Christian County, Kentucky on December 18, 1939. At an early age, he was baptized at the Gracey Baptist Church in Cadiz where he served as a Deacon. He later joined the Rocky Ridge Missionary Baptist Church in Cadiz where he served as a Sunday School Teacher. Affectionately known as “Bubba”, George was employed at Broadbent Farmers, Morris Calhoun Farms and Johnson Control.
In addition to his parents, George Mack Sr. and Magdulene Morrison Russell, George was preceded in death by his son Johnny Ray Mack. He was also preceded in death by his four brothers, George Mack, Richard Braxton, Reverend Frank Russell and Howard Mack; and his four sisters, Betty Childress, Mary Agnes Braxton, Alice Wharton and Pauline Morrison.
George leaves to cherish his memories: His wife, Marjorie Grubbs Mack of Cadiz; two sons, Larry (Rosa) Mack of Christian County and George Allen (Marilyn) Mack of Hopkinsville; three daughters, Carolyn (Hayward) Edward of Hopkinsville, Alice (Tracey) Baker and Ramona (James) Phelps, both of Killeen, Texas; five brothers, Delma (Martha) Mack of Evansville, Ind., Tom Braxton, Allen Lee (Vina) Russell, Reverend Larry (Linda) Russell and Raymond Allen Russell, all of Hopkinsville; three sisters, Linda Mack Shaffur of Louisville, Rita Mack Mcclain of Montgomery, Ala., and Teresa Russell of Cadiz. He also leaves a close friend in James Radford.
