PARIS — The KHSAA cross country season came to a close over the weekend as a number of local teams traveled to Bourbon County Park in Paris to run in the state cross country meet. Every class featured a top-10 finish from a local runner, all of which were on the boy’s side.

Trigg County took both the boy’s and girl’s teams to Paris on Friday to run in the state meet and produced one top-10 finisher in sophomore Austin Cavanaugh.

Cavanaugh improved on his run at the state tournament as a freshman, posting a sixth-place finish on Friday afternoon. His finish was also good enough to allow the Wildcats to finish eighth overall as a team. On the girl’s side, the Lady Wildcats finished 24th and their top runner was Reese Bush, who finished 119th.
