At about 11 p.m. Tuesday, Derek R. Hill, 46, arrived at Hi-Road Gas Station on Hugh Hunter Road with multiple stab wounds at various parts of his body.
Lt. Rick McCormack, Oak Grove Police Department, said after investigating, officers determined Hill traveled to the gas station from a residence on nearby Eddie Street.
"A search of the house over there found that there was an unconscious female," McCormack said.
The female was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. As of presstime, her condition was unknown by OGPD.
A toddler-aged child also was found in the home by officers during the search. The unconscious female is the toddler's biological mother. Department of Child Protective Services turned the child over to friends, McCormack said.
Hill was transported to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital where he was treated for his wounds and then medically released. Hill was served two warrants and then arrested, McCormack said.
This is an ongoing investigation. McCormack said more information will be available when officers are able to speak with the female.
The investigation is being considered a domestic case, McCormack said.
"A domestic is one of the most serious things around," he said.
