Veterans Salute

When: 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17

Where: Austin Peay State University, 601 College St., Clarksville.

Info: Event will happen during the football game against Murray State University Racers. Crews from the 101st CAB will fly two AH-64 Apache helicopters over Fortera Stadium and 70 Soldiers will unfurl the flag during the national anthem.

Cub Scout Day at the Nature Station at LBL

Where: The Woodlands Nature Station at Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area

Info: Cub Scouts of all ages can participate in staff led programs and activities that help them work toward a Belt Loop from their respective levels: Sky Is the Limit (Tigers), Digging in the Past (Wolves), Super Science (Bears) and Earth Rocks! Info: When you are looking for something to do Wednesday night before the big Thanksgiving meal, Casey Jones Distillery comes to the rescue with Friendsgiving at the Distillery — An Evening with the Alonzo Pennington Band. The distillery will be open all day starting at 10 a.m. The food truck will start serving around 5 p.m. and then at 7 p.m. The Alonzo Pennington Band will perform.

Info: Admission is $5 per car, $10 per bus up to 15 passengers and $15 for vehicles accommodating 16 passengers and above. Military and first-responders families are free. The event will include refreshments, Christmas card crafts for nursing homes, visits from Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, recycling crafts, how to feed birds in the winter and holiday safety information from firemen and police officers. Tickets are available at the center on Metcalfe Lane, steering committee members or at the gate the day of the event. YMCA Christmas bazaar/cookies

Info: Vendors can sign up for $5 plus tax for a space and $10 plus tax for a space and a table. The cookies with Santa event is scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served and photos can be taken with Santa Claus.
