The city of Oak Grove, along with Oak Grove Tourism, is proud to once again host the “Christmas in the Grove” parade.
This year’s Christmas Parade will be December 11, from 5-7 p.m. and will offer refreshments alongside the annual tree lighting ceremony held at the War Memorial Walking Trail. After Saturday’s festive day, children of the community will be invited to take Christmas photos with Santa. The first 140 kids to meet Santa will receive a present, though Santa will advise the children to wait until Christmas to unwrap their presents. The location of the event will be at 101 Walter Garrett Lane Oak Grove KY 42262.
Jackie Oliver, parade organizer, who’s also a member of the Oak Grove City Council said she is looking forward to this year’s parade.
“Back in 2017 Oak Grove held its first Christmas parade,” Oliver said. “The Oak Grove tourism and convention commission hosted it and called it ‘The War Memorial Trail Park Mini Parade’ and I wanted to bring it back this year. We were unable to have it last year due to of COVID, but we are looking forward to bringing it back. With the help of Traci Cunningham, I believe this year’s Christmas in the Grove will be nothing but amazing. This event truly brings joy to my heart. The kids of the city love it! To see all the big smiles throughout the day during the parade and when the kids get to meet Santa, makes Christmas in the Grove all the more special.”
The deadline to register for the Christmas Parade will be on Monday, December 6. 30 floats, vehicles, and golf carts will be able to participate in this year’s festival. All surrounding bordering communities are welcome to attend.
“Oak Grove has its own uniqueness, and it is why the War Memorial Walking Trail Park was turned into a mini parade route back in 2017,” Cunningham said. “In addition, we will also incorporate the annual Oak Grove Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony. Planning and preparations are currently underway to make this event come to fruition. As in most holiday parades, Santa Claus will be featured in the lineup along with the 101st Rock Band. After the parade and tree lighting, Santa will head to his workshop where the first 140 kids will receive a present and have the opportunity for photos and to tell Saint Nick what they want for Christmas.”

Christmas in the Grove is expected to be a massive successful turnout. As the year winds down, the city of Oak Groves aims to continue the joyful holiday spirit among the community just before Christmas.
