An Oak Grove woman was arrested Thursday, Oct. 3 after she created a disturbance at the Hi Road Marathon gas station located on Hugh Hunter Road before assaulting an officer, according to an Oak Grove Police Department report.
Officers arrived at the gas station and made contact with Karen L. Sims, 53, who was acting loud belligerent, the report stated. Police reportedly asked Sims to stop and quiet down, but she allegedly refused to follow commands, drawing a crowd.
Officers then began to arrest her, placing one cuff on her hands behind her back. Police were able to cuff one arm before she snatched her hands away and kept attempting to pull away, according to the report.
Once officers were able to get Sims to a patrol car, she allegedly continued to refuse to follow commands and elbowed and kicked an officer as she was placed in the car.
Police could alcohol on her breath, the report added.
Sims was charged with second-degree disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, third-degree assault of an officer and alcohol intoxication in a public place.
