Trigg duo takes 6th at state bass tournament

The Trigg County duo of Ty Meacham and Chase Oglesby finished sixth overall at the KHSAA State Bass Fishing Championship last weekend at Kentucky Dam Marina in Gilbertsville.

The Wildcat team finished with a weight of 26 pounds, 15 ounces while the winners from South Laurel brought in 32 pounds, 13 ounces. Their big catch of the weekend was four pounds, 10 ounces -- the biggest catches of the weekend. South Laurel also had the weekend's biggest catch at five pounds, four ounces, and also caught a second five pounder during the second day of competition.

Trigg County's team of Emily Huntsman and Jordan Hampton climbed the leaderboard after the first day and finished in 22nd with 18 pounds, 8 ounces.
