Samford University

HOMEWOOD, Alabama — Blake Edmonson of Cadiz was among the 1,759 students named to the Samford University’s 2019 fall semester Dean’s List.

To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. Dean’s List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.

Edmonson is majoring in Biochemistry.

Colorado Technical University

Andrew J. Bentley of New Orleans, Louisiana, (formerly of Cadiz and Hopkinsville), has been awarded a Master of Business Administration from Colorado Technical University.

Bentley graduated with a GPA of 3.67 while working full time to support his busy family. He is a U.S. Army veteran and is currently employed by US Technologies as a production coordinator on the Boeing/NASA Artemis Project.

Bentley graduated from Trigg County High School in 1998 and attended Murray State University, where he was a member of the Racer Band, before joining the U.S. Army. Upon leaving the service, Bentley attended the University of Phoenix where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business.

Local relatives include his mother, Rhonda Bentley, his sister, Nicole Hayek, and maternal grandmother, Joann Stevenson, all of Cadiz, and paternal grandmother, the Rev. Dr. Hilda Bentley of Murray.
