Hopkinsville student receives memorial scholarship

Taylor Cunningham from Hopkinsville is the first ever recipient of the Kyle D. Rogers Sigma Chi Memorial Scholarship. He is pursuing his degree in Middle School Education and his goals are to graduate in May 2019 and begin teaching in his hometown. His parents are David and Janice Taylor Cunningham, both graduates from MSU. The scholarship was established in the memory of Kyle who died from injuries of an accident at the Silver Trails Distillery in 2015.

Murray students named in Who’s Who 2018 edition

Lauren Campbell, a native of Hopkinsville and student at Murray State University, was named in the 2018 edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.

Campus nominating committees and editors of the annual directory choose students based on their academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.

Lauren is the daughter of Wayne and Martha Ann Campbell and is majoring in public relations with a minor in journalism.

She is the vice president of public relations for the National Panhellenic Council, and the 2019 executive director of Miss Murray State University Scholarship Pageant.

She is also involved in Order of Omega Greek Honor Society, Gamma Beta Phi National Honor Society, Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society, National Society of Leadership and Success, Department of Journalism and Mass Communications Student Ambassadors, Murray State Summer Orientation Team, College Republicans, she was a 2018 homecoming court nominee and was awarded second runner-up to Miss Murray State University.

H&R Agri-Power receives Pinnacle Excellence

H&R Agri-Power in Hopkinsville is set to receive Case IH Pinnacle Excellence Award.

Pinnacle Excellence Program is a company-wide initiative developed cooperatively by Case IH and the Case IH Dealer Advisory Board to help dealers deliver a best-in-class experience in today’s constantly changing agriculture landscape. It recognizes dealerships for excellence is six areas — parts, operations, service, marketing, sales and AFS.

The group will have a presentation of the award at 2 p.m. Monday at H&R Agri-Power, 4900 Eagle Way Bypass, Hopkinsville.
