UHA senior graduates from Gatton

Deeya Patel, a senior at both University Heights Academy, was among 88 high-school seniors to graduate from Gatton Academy at Western Kentucky University on May 12.

Kimbrough earns doctorate

Felicia Kimbrough, FNP, DNP, completed her post-master’s doctor of nursing practice degree May 4 at Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville.

Kimbrough is a nurse practitioner at Shawnee Health Care, Terrier Care.

She is a 1997 graduate of Hopkinsville High School, and the daughter of William and Kourtiney Mimms, Guthrie.

6 graduate from KCTC system

Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College honored 736 candidates May 4, including a few from the Pennyrile.

Local graduates include Susie A. Croney and Kevin Albert Ray, both of Christian County; Alesha Anderson, Sequia Unique Daniel, Drew T. Farlow and Kayla Williams, all of Todd County; and Greffen Davis Taylor of Trigg County.

Ray and Farlow both graduated with high distinction.

CCHS students earn music scholarships to Murray State

Christian County High School seniors Wyatt Combs and DaMonte’ Bradford accepted scholarships to continue their music education at Murray State University.

Combs (Tuba) and Bradford (Soprano) will sign their paperwork at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Performing Arts Center at Christian County Middle School.

Both Combs and Bradford were selected 2018 All-State Musicians by the Kentucky Music Educators’ Association.

Chaney makes Evansville dean’s

Madison Chaney, Cadiz, made the University of Evansville Dean’s List for academic achievements during the spring 2018 semester. Chaney is majoring in Management.

2 students make Missouri dean’s

Katie Lever, Fort Campbell, and Rachel Thompson, Cadiz, made the spring 2018 dean’s list at Southeast Missouri State University.

Brescia releases spring dean’s list

Local students named to Brescia University Spring 2018 Dean’s List include Alison Russell, a sophomore, liberal arts major from Cadiz; Jayde Robinson, a junior, psychology major from Elkton; Lesley Cansler, a senior in integrated studies, Debra Pitts, a senior of social work, Candice Wentling, a junior in social work, all of Hopkinsville.

2 graduate from Campbellsville U

The following local students earned degrees May 12 from Campbellsville University.

Jessica Malabanan of Hopkinsville graduated with Bachelor of Science in criminal justice administration area; and Omayra Pacheco, Elkton, graduated with Bachelor of Science in business administration area/human resource management.

Bell selected as Sailor of the Month

Ayanna M. Bell, IC-3, daughter of Elder J. M. Bell and Benita J. Bell, was selected as Sailor of the Month for being a part of the communications team for the USS Barry DDG 52, U.S. Navy. She is currently stationed in Yokosuka-Kusugauracho Japan.
