One driver was injured at around 8 a.m. Tuesday after being rear-ended by a semi-truck on I-24, according to Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy and Public Information Officer Chris Miller.

Miller stated that a car driven by Kris Torbenson, Hopkinsville, merged onto I-24 driving east and attempted to merge into oncoming traffic, pulling in front of a semi.

The semi-truck was unable to slow down and avoid a collision and collided with the rear of Torbenson’s car, Miller said.

Torbenson complained of back injuries and was transported to Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville, according to Miller.

The driver of the semi did not complain of any injuries.
