Several injuries were reported after an SUV collided with a horse and buggy at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday while around the 3000 block of Pembroke Road, according to a Christian County Sheriff’s release.

Both the SUV and the buggy were driving in the right lane before the SUV struck the buggy from behind, the release said.

The collision destroyed the buggy and killed the horse pulling it. Four individuals were in the buggy, three were injured. Two of the injured occupants were transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center while the third was transported to TriStar Skyline Medical Center via helicopter.

The driver of the SUV was not injured.
