Three people were injured in a two-vehicle head-on collision just before 1 p.m. Monday on South Walnut Street, according to a Hopkinsville police report.

A vehicle driven by Logan W. Thomas, 19, Hopkinsville, was traveling north on Fort Campbell Boulevard, attempting to merge onto South Walnut Street going straight head. Thomas stated a water bottle fell to the front floor board and reached down to pick it up. He then saw a vehicle driven by Zacceus T. Stokes Sr., 30, Hopkinsville, who was traveling north on Walnut Street and merging onto Fort Campbell Boulevard. Stokes saw Thomas‘ vehicle merging, but was unable to avoid the collision, the report states.

Stokes and two passengers, Angela R. Stokes, 29, and Zaccheus T. Stokes II, 5, were transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
