A driver was injured at around 7:35 a.m. Wednesday in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Pyle Lane and Great Oaks Drive after both drivers did not see each other, according to a Hopkinsville Police Department report.
A juvenile was driving east on Greats Oaks Drive towards Pyle Lane and stopped at the stop sign before proceeding to turn left onto Pyle.
At the same time, Rebecca Lugo, 41, Hopkinsville, was driving south on Pyle proceeding straight through the intersection.
The juvenile told police that as they attempted to turn left, they could not see Lugo’s vehicle as it was in their blindspot, causing Lugo to strike their vehicle, the report said.
The juvenile continued to state that after they were struck, their vehicle was in the middle of the road and attempted to move the vehicle and came to a final stop after backing up into a ditch and backing into a tree, according to the report.
Lugo told officers that when the juvenile came out of Great Oaks, they did not see the juvenile’s vehicle and did not have time to react and avoid the collision, the report stated.
Lugo was transported by EMS to Jennie Stuart Health for a possible wrist or arm injury, the report added. No one else reported injuries in the accident.
