A two-vehicle accident around 11 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of East Ninth Street and South Main Street sent one driver to Jennie Stuart Medical Center with injuries, according to a Hopkinsville Police Department report.

Dakota McBride, 31, Hopkinsville, told police he was driving south on South Main Street approaching the intersection when he allegedly couldn’t see the light turn red due to a sign obstructing his view.

He told officers that he quickly saw the light turn red but didn’t have enough time to stop and continued through the intersection.

Beverly Cunningham, 55, Hopkinsville, was driving west on East Ninth Street and continued through intersection as she had a green light before being struck by McBride, the report stated.

Cunningham was injured in the accident and was taken to JSMC via EMS, the report added.
