A driver was transported to Jennie Stuart Health after reportedly colliding with a mail carrier’s vehicle at 3 p.m. Friday while on Cox Mill Road, according to a Hopkinsville Police Department report.

The report states Christopher Lewis, 53, Clarksville, a mail carrier, had finished placing mail into a mailbox when he began to pull forward on Cox Mill traveling south while Aldrin Galindo, 50, Hopkinsville, was approaching the rear of Lewis.

Lewis told police that he had begun to pull forward when Galindo passed him and in the process of getting back into the right lane, made contact with the front of Lewis’ vehicle.

Galindo told officers that he believed Lewis had pulled out of a side street and struck his vehicle, according to the report.

Galindo complained of back pain and was transported to Jennie Stuart, the report added.
