Public safety tip of the week

This week’s public safety tip comes from Hopkinsville Police Department who are giving a warning to citizens who have Sonic Drive-In accounts.

There was a case within the county where a person from another state had their Sonic account hacked. Their username and password were "sold" to another person.

According to the suspect, there is an “App” out there that claims once you log on, and for a fee, you can get discount cards and gift certificates. What the app fails to tell you is that the information belongs to someone else.

HPD warns, when using apps such as one for Sonic, ensure that you are using all security protocols that they offer and choose your username and password wisely.
