A Cerulean man suspected of murdering a Rutherford County resident turned himself in about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday at Rutherford County Adult Detention Center, according to a release from the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.
Suspect Christopher Hawk Robinson, 37, is being charged with first-degree murder of Erick Bixler, 45, of Asbury Lane in Tennessee, said Detective Ty Downing in the release.
Robinson is also charged with especially aggravated robbery, especially aggravated kidnapping, murder in the perpetration of a crime and possession of a firearm.
Hopkinsville Police Department asked the local community to help in locating Robinson earlier Wednesday morning after it was determined that he lived in the area and frequents Hopkinsville.
Robinson is 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds.
According to the release from the Rutherford County Sheriff, deputies were called to the home of Bixler on July 26 where they found his body.
Detectives developed leads and identified Robinson as a suspect, and they served a search warrant at his Cerulean home Sunday.
