Officer Atkins

Hopkinsville’s Public Information Officer Mike Atkins is pictured to the left recieving The Life Saving Award. On the Fourth of July, Atkins was spotted in Hardin helping a parton of the community who has been injured and unconscious during amotorcycle accident.

The purpose of law enforcement in a free society is to promote public safety and uphold the rule of law so that individual liberty may flourish. Trust and accountability between law enforcement and the communities they are sworn to protect is essential to advancing these goals. While being an officer is seen as a risky profession, it is rewarding in many ways.

Earlier this week, the Hopkinsville Police Department recognized and honored Hopkinsville’s Public Information Officer Mike Atkins with the Life Saving Award.
