Since school has been out for the summer, the Alhambra Theater and Pennyroyal Arts Council has provided a space for the youth and community to come out and watch movies on stage.

On select Wednesdays, free movies are played for families, kids and friends to attend from noon until 2 p.m. At each showing, concessions are available such as popcorn, candy and beverages.

This past Wednesday on June 22, 2022 a well-known kid comedy known as Trolls was shown for the community to come out and enjoy. The movie is about a Troll village being invaded by grumpy Bergens. In the movie, two mismatched friends must work together in perfect harmony to save the day. The happiest troll ever born named Poppy, and the over cautiously curmudgeonly branch of friends set off on a journey to rescue those of the village who were captured. Their mission is full of adventure and mishaps as the mismatched friends try to tolerate each other long enough to complete the mission.

The youth that attended the viewing was seen giggling throughout the movie, attentively watching for the next unexpected turn.

As the movie series continues on the Alhambra stage, next Wednesday on June 29, the Disney classic also known as Finding Nemo will premier beginning at noon.

The following Wednesday on July 6, the highly praised movie known as Encanto will air for the kids of the community beginning at noon.

This free series of movies viewed free at the Alhambra Theatre are made possible thanks to The Siloevents and Bolinger Real Estate and Auction.

The mission of the Pennyroyal Arts Council, Inc. is to encourage, develop, and promote the appreciation of the Arts through: Education, Support, Service, and Presentation. While this movie series is for a limited time, come out and join in watching fan favorites and childhood classics.

The Pennyroyal Arts Council is a 501c3 organization that attracts thousands of patrons in the Christian County and surrounding areas inside the historic theater with sound programming from school musical productions, storytelling programs, free movies for the community to attend, camps, ceremonies among several other events that connect and bring the community together.
