A Hopkinsville man was arrested around 7:05 p.m. Monday while at North Fowler Avenue and West First Street for marijuana and gun charges, according to a Hopkinsville Police Department report.
Taylor R. Honea, 26, Hopkinsville, was observed "violating a pedestrian KRS," the report said. However, it did not specify what he did.
Honea noticed officers in the area and allegedly attempted to avoid police by running in the middle of the street before heading towards a residence on North Fowler Avenue.
Shortly after, officers were able to make contact with Honea who was reportedly acting extremely nervous and repeatedly putting his hands in his pockets.
Honea had a backpack on his person to which he consented to be searched by officers. The search revealed several marijuana roaches and a defaced handgun, according to the report.
Honea was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a defaced firearm.
