A Hopkinsville man was arrested Sunday following the report of a woman being robbed on Velma Drive, according to a Hopkinsville Police Department report.
Police received a call around 3:50 p.m. Sunday in regards to a man who stole a firearm from a woman, pointed it at her and shoved her, the report said.
The man was seen running from two miles from the area, jumping over fences and running through backyards. He was later allegedly observed at Dollar General on LaFayette Road attempting to break in to various cars.
Officers located the man on Sands Drive a short time later and arrested him at gunpoint.

The man was identified as James B. Browne, 24, who told police that he had lost the gun while running. The gun was located and returned to the owner, the report added.
Browne was charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree wanton endangerment and tampering with physical evidence.
