Hopkinsville Police arrested a Hopkinsville man Wednesday morning in connection to a shooting murder that occurred just after midnight Wednesday at a home on Richard Street, according to a Hopkinsville Police Department report.
The report states that police were called to a home on Richard Street in reference to a person being shot.
When officers arrived, they reportedly found a male subject lying on the kitchen floor unresponsive.
It appeared that the man had a gunshot wound to his upper torso and was transported to Jennie Stuart Health, where he was identified as Gregory Burse, 36, and pronounced dead, according to the report.
While investigating the case, officers reportedly received information that Daron Bell, 43, Hopkinsville, was the man who reportedly shot and killed Burse.
Police were able to find Bell at around 6:30 a.m. and transported him to HPD, where he was interviewed as a suspect.
During the interview, Bell allegedly admitted to officers that he shot Burse, according to the report.
Bell was arrested and charged with murder.
