An alleged squatter was arrested around 2 p.m. Monday while at Virginia Place on South Virginia Street for a reported burglary, according to a Hopkinsville Police Department report.

Officers were called in reference to a suspicious person walking up and down the halls at the Virginia Place, the report stated.

Police met with Michael McLendon in the courtyard, where they reportedly found a social security card belonging to a resident on Lindsey Drive.

McLendon allegedly said the items were his and gave officers consent to search.

The report added that officers had taken a report earlier that day about squatters living at the home on Lindsey Drive.

Police arrested McLendon, who reportedly admitted to going into the garage of the Lindsey Drive home.

McLendon was charged with second-degree burglary.

Camden A. Miller, 22, Hopkinsville, was arrested on a Montgomery County warrant at 2:10 p.m. Tuesday while at a home on Maplelawn Street for a Tennessee charge of rape of a child less than 13 years of age, according to an HPD report.
