Two people were arrested at around 10:50 a.m. Tuesday while on South Main Street for tampering with evidence and gun possession of charges, according to a Christian County Sheriff’s Office report.
The report states deputies observed a vehicle driving with no brake lights and conducted a traffic stop.
Upon stop, deputies allegedly observed the driver, Tabitha A. Jones, 47, Oak Grove, place something in her waistband, the report said.
After searching her person, deputies allegedly found an unloaded handgun in her waistband.
Jones told deputies that her passenger, Jorge M. Morales, 31, Hopkinsville, gave her the gun and told her to put in her pants, according to the report.
After deputies searched their criminal histories, it was determined that both individuals are prior convicted felons.
Jones and Morales were both arrested and charged with tampering with physical evidence and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
Jones had an additional charge of no brake lights, the report added.
