A woman was arrested at around 12:35 p.m. Friday while at Liberty and East Eighth streets for alleged drug possession, according to a Hopkinsville Police Department report.
The report states police were called to the area in reference to a caller requesting officers to check the welfare of a woman who “could not keep her head up.”
When officers arrived they found Krista M. Hall, 27, who was allegedly stumbling, shaking uncontrollably, crying and appeared to be distraught, the report said.
Hall was reportedly clutching her purse and when asked by police for consent to search it, she refused.
A short time later, Hall allegedly placed her purse on the ground and police could reportedly see a straw cut in half, appearing to have a white residue, according to the report.
Officers asked her what the straw was used for and began crying again and stated that she “was going to jail,” the report stated.
Upon searching her purse, officers allegedly located two rocks of methamphetamine, the report added.
Hall was arrested and charged with public intoxication and first-degree possession of meth.
