A Bardwell man who was reportedly driving a lawnmower on U.S. 51 in the Arlington community near Bardwell was arrested Saturday after he allegedly became combative with Kentucky State Police troopers.

State police said officers responded to several complaints that Phillip Bright Jr. was driving a lawnmower in the roadway while drinking alcohol.

Upon their arrival, troopers said they determined Bright was under the influence of alcohol and attempted to place him under arrest when Bright allegedly became resistant.

He was taken to Graves County Jail.

Bright is charged with third-degree assault of a police officer, driving while under the influence, first-degree wanton endangerment, criminal littering, possession of an open alcoholic container in a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, third-degree terroristic threatening, first-degree criminal mischief, menacing and not having the required emblem or tape for a slow-moving vehicle.

The following information was obtained through police, police reports or the Christian County Jail. Readers are reminded that a charge is only an accusation and everyone is entitled to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty in a court of law
