A Hopkinsville man was arrested around 11 p.m. Wednesday at Walnut and 14th streets on several charges after he allegedly shot out the tires of a vehicle, according to a Hopkinsville Police Department report.
Police received a call about an individual shooting the tires out of a vehicle at 2916 Fort Campbell Blvd., the report stated.
A short time later, officers reportedly observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed driving north on Walnut Street in the southbound lane and nearly struck a police vehicle head on.
Police made contact with the driver, who allegedly had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person.
The man was identified as Christopher A. Brocato, 36, according to the report. Brocato allegedly failed several sobriety tests and was taken into custody. Brocato reportedly made several threats to officers and their families while under arrest.
The report added that Brocato is a resident of Hopkinsville but was allegedly using a driver’s license out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
He was charged with intimidating a participant in a legal process, resident not to use out of state license, reckless driving, driving while under the influence, third-degree terroristic threatening and second-degree criminal mischief.
