A man was arrested at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for burglary after allegedly breaking into a Dollar General and stealing cash, according to a Hopkinsville Police Department report.
Codie Atwell, 31, Hopkinsville, was arrested on the strength of a Christian County warrant for third-degree burglary.
The report states on Oct. 11, 2018, Atwell allegedly used a crowbar to break the bottom pane of glass on the front door of Dollar General on North Main Street and entered the building illegally.
Once inside the store, Atwell reportedly opened a safe and stole $1,142 that was inside. Atwell then exited the building the way he came in and cut himself on the glass, leaving blood, the report added.
