An employee of T.J. Maxx was accused of stealing nearly $900 from the store and charged with theft just after 1 p.m. Thursday on Fort Campbell Boulevard at the store, according to a Hopkinsville police report.

The store’s loss prevention department contacted Hopkinsville Police Department after conducting an internal investigation into an employee, Waltisha F. Fleming, 44, Hopkinsville. The store provided police with a written statement from Fleming where she allegedly admitted to stealing $876.56. The report adds that after being read her rights, Fleming admitted to taking the money over several months.

Fleming was charged with felony theft by unlawful taking (over $500).
