Hopkinsville woman arrested for alleged assault on East 23rd Street

A Hopkinsville woman was arrested around 4:15 a.m. Monday while at an apartment on Hazel Street after she allegedly assaulted a man, according to a Hopkinsville Police Department report.

Officers were called to an apartment on East 23rd Street in reference to an assault and possible burglary that occurred shortly before, the report stated.

Upon arrival, police reportedly met with Brandon Smith who was found with blood coming from his face and mouth as well as lacerations to his back from an instrument or weapon. The report did not specify what the weapon was.

Smith told officers he had been chased into the apartment and assaulted along with other individuals, according to the report.

Smith identified one of the individuals as Lashikka L. Anderson, 33, the report added.

Smith was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for his injuries.

Anderson was arrested a short time later on Hazel Street.

She is charged with first-degree assault. No other individuals have been arrested.

Brown, 28, Hopkinsville, was arrested at 12:20 p.m. Friday on College Street for first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment and operating a motor vehicle on a suspended or revoked license, according to an HPD report. Brown was also served two Christian County warrants for contempt of court and violating probation or parole.
