A pursuit that ended in a crash on Eagle Way Wednesday night led to a Hopkinsville man being arrested for several charges, according to radio traffic and Christian County Jail records.
Brandon Smith, 26, was charged with fleeing, gun possession and wanton endangerment after fleeing from police.
Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop on Smith after observing he was not wearing a seatbelt. Officers observed several individuals flee from his vehicle before Smith fled in his vehicle, causing a pursuit, according to radio traffic.
Smith later collided with another vehicle on Eagle Way, ending the pursuit. He was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
Smith was charged with tampering with physical evidence, first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, second-degree possession of codeine, failure to wear seat belts and first-degree fleeing or evading police, according to jail records.
